Shopko Foundation Supports The Family’s “Help for the Homeless” Hygiene Drive with $1,500 Grant

Published Wednesday, March 16, 2016

91.9/91.5/88.5 The Family received a $1,500 grant from the Shopko Foundation in support of their annual “Help for the Homeless” hygiene drive. Shopko stores throughout The Family’s listening areas also helped by hosting collection boxes in participating communities, receiving more than $10,000 worth of public donations.

The Family radio works closely with area homeless coalitions and crisis programs through their Help for the Homeless hygiene drive, inviting people to donate supplies such as laundry soap, hair care, dental and feminine care items, diapers, and other hygiene and cleaning items to their local agencies. This helps the crisis programs to dedicate their limited financial resources to providing qualified personnel, education, counseling, shelter and food to those they serve.

The goal of Help for the Homeless is to supply a year’s worth of products to each agency. More than $1.7 million dollars’ worth of hygiene supplies have been donated since 2008. More at or 800-236-9364.

This spring, 775 businesses, churches and schools in 14 communities are helping 82 crisis programs. Donations remain in the communities where they are collected.
