Homeless Connections awarded its first annual Hero Realtor at its 10th Annual Benefit Gala “Hope has an Address” on November 17, 2015 to EXIT ELITE REALTY. EXIT was selected for being the real estate office to raise the most money for Homeless Connections during the month prior to the Gala event.
The Benefit Gala is Homeless Connections’ largest fundraiser and drew over 300 guests and netted $116,780 to benefit individuals and families who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in our community. EXIT ELITE REALTY agents and staff raised $1,745 in the month prior to the Gala by sharing Homeless Connections’ mission with their friends and family and soliciting individual donations.
“EXIT ELITE REALTY has been a mission partner of ours for several years,” said Community Relations Director Jennifer Dieter, “Their agents and staff have been donors and volunteers, helping raise awareness of our mission to help people who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness achieve self-sufficiency.”
"Can you ever imagine not having a place to call home? Being in the real estate industry, we get to witness the joy on people's faces when they purchase their first home, sell their home to move up because of a bigger family, or downsize to spend time traveling, etc. The reward in this industry is truly helping people. We have been involved with Homeless Connections throughout the years because no one should have to ‘feel’ the way you would if you did not have a place to call home,” said Lori Muller, owner of EXIT ELITE REALTY, “The slogan at EXIT ELITE REALTY is ‘Seeing you Through to New Beginnings,’ and that is true if we are listing and selling real estate or contributing to Homeless Connections for the people in our community who don’t have a home."
Other finalists for the 2015 Hero Realtor award included First Weber Realtors and Century 21 Ace Realty.
To be considered for the 2016 Hero Realtor award, offices must register with Homeless Connections by September 30, 2016 by calling 920.734.9603 or emailing email@example.com and raise a minimum of $500 for Homeless Connections by October 28, 2016.
Homeless Connections (formerly the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley) is ending homelessness by connecting individuals and families to resources that promote self-sufficiency and prevent future homeless episodes. Homeless Connections serves approximately 3,000 individuals each year through four core areas of impact: Shelter, Case Management, Street Outreach, and Prevention. It is the only homeless shelter in the Fox Cities that serves families regardless of cause of homelessness and collaborates with other like-minded organizations to provide case management to its clients and improve the quality of living for those we serve and for the community as a whole.
