Shannon Full, President/CEO of the Fox Cities Chamber, has received the 2016 Young Professional Award from the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA). The award recognizes an individual based on their use of creativity, leadership, effort and investment, or other attributes, which further economic development goals and objectives within the State of Wisconsin.

“Today was a very special day for me both personally and professionally. I was honored and humbled to receive WEDA’s Young Professional of the Year Award for Economic Development, presented by Governor Walker. I am extremely passionate about helping businesses and communities grow and prosper, and I have had the great fortune of working with a team that shares that passion,” stated Full.

Since 1985, WEDA has been recognizing individuals, businesses and organizations for their exceptional contributions to the economic vitality of Wisconsin. Since joining the Fox Cities Chamber in January of 2011, Full and the Board commissioned a study by Garner Economics, which laid out the blueprint for how and why the Fox Cities should put together a regional economic development organization focused on retaining and attracting business within the area. By 2012, the Fox Cities Regional Partnership (FCRP) was formed, allowing for a true public/private investment model.

Full sits on the board of several national, statewide and regional economic development-focused organizations including: ACCE, U.S. Chamber Committee 100, Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives, New North and WEDA Legislative Committee. She was asked to sit on these prestigious boards because of her idealistic nature, pushing people to rethink the goals of economic development and challenging them to adapt to the future.

Besides being the visionary behind Talent Upload, the FCRP’s talent attraction program, Full has innovative and creative ideas that improve the business climate for area employers. She’s committed to moving the field of economic development in a direction that addresses current and future needs, challenges and opportunities of local employers.

“Thank you to my family for supporting me, to my internal team for their dedication and commitment, to our Board and investors that believe in the work we are doing, to all of our collaborative partners that we need to be successful and to WEDA and Governor Walker for this tremendous honor. I am blessed to be working in the Fox Cities and in the state of Wisconsin,” adds Full.
